* Academic Affairs is simplifying its official hospitality reimbursement process for candidate searches. Learn about these important changes before they take effect in fiscal year 2015. The Official Hospitality Training Session is from 3-4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, in 127 Jabara Hall. * At its last meeting of the 2013-14 academic year, the Wichita State University Faculty Senate approved changes to its general education program aimed at promoting opportunities for seamless transfer among community college students. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?2997 for more information.

* The free summer music series "Art for Your Ears" will feature Ellis Paul at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at McKnight Outdoor Plaza (between the Ulrich Museum and School of Art, Design and Creative Industries). Paul is one of the leading voices in American songwriting, and one of the top songwriters to emerge out of the fertile Boston folk scene.

* Shockerthon is a group of WSU students who work to raise money for Children's Miracle Network. The group is going through the process of chartering Shockerthon as a Recognized Student Organization and is seeking a faculty or staff advisor for the new organization.
