* Join in celebrating the Ulrich Underground's first artist-in-residence Lisa Solomon at a reception from 6-7 p.m. today (Thursday, July 10) with light fare and a meet-and-greet with the artist.

* The free summer music series "Art for Your Ears" will feature American songwriter Ellis Paul at 7 p.m. today (Thursday, July 10) at McKnight Outdoor Plaza (between the Ulrich Museum and School of Art and Design).

* WSU's Office of Research and Technology Transfer has purchased a membership to the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance. NCIIA connects faculty and students from institutions of all kinds, including research institutions with active technology transfer programs, colleges exploring the teaching of applied innovation, engineering schools and business schools, large and small, committed to offering students more creative, hands-on experiences. * Welcomefest is a two-week campaign Aug. 16-30, with the intention of welcoming students back to campus. Student Involvement will create an event guide and corresponding publicity to advertise events and services throughout campus. * This week, Chamber Music at the Barn is playing host to the five-time Grammy nominated Fred Hersch Trio. Not only is Fred Hersch an incredible jazz pianist and composer, but he also began by taking composition lessons with WSU's Walter Mays.
