Convocation is the official fall tradition that focuses on celebrating the opening of the academic year and serves as a special welcome to our student body. * The Student Veterans Organization and WSU's Military and Veteran's Center is hosting an on-campus blood drive for the Red Cross from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, in 107 Lindquist Hall. To schedule an appointment, go to http://www.redcrossblood.org/donating-blood and select Wichita State as the donation site. You will find WSU's drive on July 22. * The Office of Cooperative Education & Work-Based Learning has relocated to Brennan Hall III.

* The free summer music series "Art for Your Ears" will feature the Cherokee Maidens Ellis Paul at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at McKnight Outdoor Plaza (between the Ulrich Museum and School of Art and Design). The Cheroke Maidens cover old western swing, jazz and original tunes. They all share Cherokee Indian Heritage and Great Plains roots.
