* The Office of Adult Learning will sponsor webinars and other opportunities for engagement on topics of interest to those working with adult learners at WSU. * University Libraries is offering one-hour workshops on citation searching for all interested faculty, including those preparing tenure, promotion and other documents. The workshops will be from 3-4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, and Wednesday, Aug. 27. Both workshops will be held in 217 Ablah Library. * Beginning Monday, Aug. 18, all investigators (including faculty, staff, students and any unaffiliated collaborators) conducting research that requires approval from the Wichita State University Institutional Review Board (IRB) will be required to complete Human Subjects Training before IRB approval can be granted. * The Office of Human Resources administers the employee tuition assistance program for benefits-eligible, nonteaching employees of the university. * Reading Explorers is a fun, literacy-based playgroup where children will enjoy using stories, music and multisensory activities to learn letters, their corresponding sounds and how to blend these sounds together to read words. The program is currently taking enrollment for classes beginning in August. The classes are from 1-2:30 p.m. on Thursdays for children 4-6 years old and includes parent and child trainings. The children must be accompanied by a caregiver. It is offered one day per week from mid-August to May. Call the clinic at 978-3289 for more information.
