Reminders
* Final chilled water tie-ins of Phase II of the west campus underground piping replacement project will take place today (Thursday, Aug. 14) and Friday, Aug. 15. This work will shut down campus chilled water, and thus shut down air-conditioning systems to McKinley Hall, McKnight Art Center (North, East, West and Ulrich Museum) and Henrion Hall. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?3179 for more information.
* Learn how University Libraries supports instruction and research at a library orientation created especially for all instructors. Dates and times for faculty and teaching assistants are 6-7 p.m. today (Thursday, Aug. 14, presession); 11 a.m.-noon Friday, Aug. 15 (presession; created especially for faculty); noon-1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15 (presession; created especially for teaching assistants); and noon-1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, for all instructors. RSVP is helpful, but not required. Go to http://libresources.wichita.edu/libraryinstruction to learn more about specialized library instruction options available for your classes this fall. Contact http://wichita.libcal.com/profile/apaul to RSVP and for questions.
* Remember to submit your campus events to the online calendar for Wichita State. Early entry is crucial to campus planners, campus media and statewide print and broadcast media, all of whom need to know the time, date, place and cost of any individual event. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/calendarsubmit
* Faculty and staff are welcome to submit questions to President Bardo in advance of his presentation "WSU Transformation: Becoming the Innovation University" at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, in the Shirley Beggs Ballroom, 305/306 Rhatigan Student Center. Submit questions via email at wsuinnovation@wichita.edu. If you are unable to attend, you can go to http://www.wichitastate.tv/live to watch it online.
* Effective Aug. 11, WSU travelers will receive an email stating the Travel Office has completed the entry of your travel request. The email will provide instructions regarding how to sign into the Travel and Expense Management system and how to review and submit the travel document. This online approval will eliminate the need for the traveler to sign the Travel Authorization and Travel Reimbursement forms. This is the first step toward full routing and approval of all travel documents. Questions? Call the WSU Travel Office at 978-3070.
* Beginning Monday, Aug. 18, all investigators (including faculty, staff, students and any unaffiliated collaborators) conducting research that requires approval from the Wichita State University Institutional Review Board (IRB) will be required to complete Human Subjects Training before IRB approval can be granted. The preferred training is through the CITI program. Go to https://www.citiprogram.org/ to access the program. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?3097 for more information.
