* The Wichita Medical Research and Education Foundation is pleased to announce a Collaborative Investigator Initiated Research funding opportunity of $15,000. The purpose of this research program is to provide investigators with short-term funding in the areas of social/behavioral, biological, genetic or environmental determinants of disease and/or health, either physical or mental, across the life span. * Faculty and staff with yellow parking permits must park in designated yellow or yellow/green parking lots on the main campus. Vehicles with yellow permits that are parked in green lots will be ticketed by the WSU Police Department.
* The Office of Human Resources administers the employee tuition assistance program for benefits-eligible, nonteaching employees of the university. The deadline to apply for spring courses is Dec. 12. The deadline for seminars is still three weeks prior to the first day of the seminar. * Shocker volleyball will host its sixth annual Volleyball 101 Dinner at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, in the Preferred Health Systems Multi-Purpose facility. Learn the game and understand the rules with the help of Wichita State coaches, current team members and alumni, while helping raise money for the Shockers. Individual tickets are $40 and can be purchased online at goshockers.com or through the WSU ticket office at 978-FANS (3267).
