Reorganization of the Office for Faculty Development and Student Success

Because of Bill Vanderburgh’s resignation last month from the Office for Faculty Development and Student Success (OFDSS), effective Aug. 18, Kim Sandlin, director of the Office of Transitions and Orientation, will take on the additional responsibility of directing this area, which will be renamed the Office of Student Success. Kim was an assistant director in OFDSS prior to assuming her current position.

This experience makes her an excellent choice to lead its reorganization, says Rick Muma, associate vice president of Academic Affairs, who is responsible for the overall coordination of student success and retention efforts for the Division of Academic Affairs.

Faculty development activities have been assigned, also on an interim basis, to Linnea GlenMaye, associate vice president of Academic Affairs. During the next year, Muma, GlenMaye and Sandlin will engage the university in strategic planning around student success and faculty development in order to determine WSU’s future direction in these areas.
