Reminders
* Student Involvement is hosting a social for all WSU graduate students from 4-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, in 203 RSC. Enjoy refreshments and a chance to meet the Student Involvement staff and other graduate students around campus. For any questions, contact Jeff Nilsen at 978-3022 or jeffrey.nilsen@wichita.edu.
* It's not too late to become a member of Women's Glee Club, WSU's own all-female choir. The ensemble sings a wide variety of music in a fun, energetic, supportive environment. No audition is necessary to be a member -- just show up and sing. Women's Glee rehearses from 2:30-3:20 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We'd love to see you there. For more information, visit http://www.wichita.edu/choirs or email Michael Hanawalt at michael.hanawalt@wichita.edu.
* Wichita State's Office of Multicultural Affairs recently changed its name to the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and has relocated to its permanent home in 208 Rhatigan Student Center. Director Alicia Sanchez said, "Multiple factors influenced the name change, one being to escape the stigma of the office only being for multicultural or international students. By removing this stigma, more students can feel comfortable approaching the office for programs and assistance." Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?3184 for more information.
* The Office for Student Money Management's (OSMM) new home is 115 Neff Hall. It's open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and will stay open late by appointment. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/OSMM for more information or if you would like to schedule a guest speaker for your organization. OSMM provides free personal finance education -- for students by students. From creating a financial survival plan for college to completing the FAFSA, from establishing good credit to avoiding identity theft, we can help.
* Don't miss the Back-to-School Mega Event on Wednesday, Aug. 27. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?3221 for details.
* Pick up the Student Involvement Fall Event Calendar to learn about all the great things happening on the WSU campus in 216 RSC. If you have questions, contact Jeff Nilsen at jeffrey.nilsen@wichita.edu or call Student Involvement at 978-3022.
* Do you, or someone you know want to become a lifeguard? Campus Recreation is offering a lifeguard training class Sept. 4-8. There's a discounted rate for WSU students. For more information, go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?3222 or call 978-3082.
