* Wichita State seeks to create a chapter for Phi Beta Kappa. We are currently compiling a list of all WSU faculty and staff who received the Phi Beta Kappa honor during their undergraduate program. If this applies you, let Candice Weathers know at candice.weathers@wichita.edu by Friday, Aug. 29.

* Please submit your campus events to Wichita State's online calendar. Early entry is crucial to campus planners, campus media and statewide print and broadcast media, all of whom need to know the time, date, place and cost of any individual event. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/calendarsubmit

* Plan now to attend Convocation 2014 at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, in Charles Koch Arena. Lunch will follow. Convocation is the official fall event that focuses on celebrating the opening of the academic year and serves as a special welcome to our student body. Institutional pride and a sense of community are often built around existing traditions, and convocation has become a valued WSU tradition.
