Reminders

* The Division of Academic Affairs and the Faculty Senate are hosting a series of workshops and webinars during the year for faculty and staff to learn more about Credit for Prior Learning and Competency-based Education. To learn more about upcoming opportunities and how to RSVP, go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?3242

* As of Aug. 18, all investigators (including faculty, staff, students and any unaffiliated collaborators) conducting research that requires approval from the WSU Institutional Review Board (IRB) are required to complete Human Subjects Training before IRB approval can be granted. The preferred training is through the CITI program. Go to https://www.citiprogram.org/ to access the program. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?3097 for more information.

* The Office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance reminds those placing catering orders with Sodexo to also submit a Sodexo Information Sheet prior to all catered events. This sheet is used in expediting the billing process and should be filled out for all events, regardless of the funding source. Submit completed forms to Campus Box 47 or by fax at 978-3151. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?3091 to access the form. Questions about this form can be directed to Fiffy Petty at 978-3030.

* Applications are being accepted for Multidisciplinary Research Projects (MURPA) and University Research/Creative Projects (URCA). The Faculty Support Committee previously voted to add an additional cycle of funding for the URCA, and this will be the second round of funding for Fiscal Year 2015. Applications for both programs are due to the Office of Research and Technology Transfer by 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3. Visit http://www.wichita.edu/j/?3236 for more information.

* Just because summer is over doesn't mean you have to stop swimming. Campus Recreation offers swim lessons throughout the year. Children's lessons, parent/tot and adult classes are offered at the Heskett Center pool. For more information or to register for a class, visit the Guest Services Desk at the Heskett Center or call 978-3082.

* The Heskett Center has added more than eight hours of late night and weekend programming. That's over 180 more hours for fun, fitness and leisure activities. Hours are 6 a.m.-11 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Fridays; 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturdays; and 1-10 p.m. Sundays.

* Classes will not be in session and offices at Wichita State will be closed Monday, Sept. 1, to observe Labor Day. Classes will resume and offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2.
