* The Learn More: 2014 WSU Technology Fair will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, on the RSC second floor. The Technology Fair is an annual event where the WSU community discovers the many ways technology is used on campus today. You are invited to submit a proposal to be a presenter at the fair and share how you use technology in the classroom and workplace today. * Kansas NSF EPSCoR is announcing a funding opportunity for First Awards in the areas of climate or energy research or atomic/molecular/optical science. The First Award program helps early career faculty become competitive for funding from the research directorates at the National Science Foundation. The letter of intent submission deadline is Monday, Sept. 8. The first proposal deadline is Monday, Oct. 27. * Applications are being accepted for Multidisciplinary Research Projects (MURPA) and University Research/Creative Projects (URCA). * Explore the features and capabilities of electronic note-taking through the use of Microsoft OneNote from 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Sept. 3, in 119 Jabara Hall. To view training dates and register for the class, log in to myWSU, select "EmpHelp" (orange cube under the Weather) and then "myTraining." Click the Register button to view session details and register for training.

* The Center for Community Support and Research and the Health & Wellness Coalition of Wichita would like you to share your perceptions about how well the Wichita community supports healthy eating and physical activity for its residents. Go to bit.ly/1vfTEOh to take the survey.

* Go Wichita Convention and Visitors Bureau, in partnership with the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce, Greater Wichita Economic Development Coalition, Wichita Downtown Development Corp., Wichita Community Foundation and WSU, has embarked on a project to create a new brand identity for Wichita and is asking for the community's help. The public is welcome to provide input at one of two Wichita Brand Summit Workshops from 5-7 p.m. today (Tuesday, Sept. 2) or Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the Wichita Scottish Rite Center, 332 E. 1st St. N.

* The Undergraduate Research Workshop will include such topics as Developing Research Questions, Using SmartSearch and Writing Citations in MLA and in APA.
