* Emerging Leaders is a unique opportunity for freshmen to get on the fast-track to student leadership, campus and community involvement. Each participant will be paired up with an upperclassman mentor with the same major. Students will have an opportunity to develop their leadership abilities through workshops, activities and reflection in order to prepare them for future leadership experiences at WSU and beyond. * Do you have a knack for the visual arts? Compete in the 22nd Annual Elements Multimedia Art Competition. Students can submit up to six pieces of works in a variety of categories. If you have more than six works and would like to host your own art show, apply to exhibit in the Cadman Art Gallery for the spring semester. * Alexander White, author of "Be a Mensch: A Father's Legacy," one of the few surviving members of Schindler's List, will give a free talk at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, in Ablah Library, just outside of Special Collections. Refreshments will be provided. White recently returned from Poland, his first return visit since the Holocaust, and he will speak about those experiences and much more. He is a well-known, inspiring, articulate and dynamic speaker.
