LAPO to be open for total lunar eclipse

Mark your calendars for the second total lunar eclipse of the year. In the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 8, the full moon will glide through the deepest part of Earth's shadow causing a lunar eclipse. Lake Afton Public Observatory will be open to the public for this special event from 4-6:30 a.m.

Lake Afton Public Observatory is operated by the Fairmount Center for Science and Mathematics Education, a part of the Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Science at Wichita State University. Additional support is provided by Sedgwick County.
