* The fall Anthropology Colloquium series will feature a presentation by graduate student James Scott called "Where do they belong? The place of Homo neanderthalensis in Homo sapiens sapiens' cranial variation," at 5 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 2) in 117 Neff Hall.
* The Office of Undergraduate Admissions invites faculty and staff to participate as an observer at this year's Distinguished Scholarship Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 6. The observers watch the students participate in small group activities and rate them on their leadership skills. The approximate time commitment will be from 7:30 a.m.-noon. A light breakfast is included along with a short training session. * The Center for Entrepreneurship is offering a fall series of nine seminars designed for entrepreneurs and small businesses seeking to keep up with the best advice for operating business in today's dynamic economic times. * Individuals with five, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of service to the state will be recognized in a ceremony at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the Shirley Beggs Ballroom in the RSC. Employees who reach anniversary dates from Sept. 2, 2013, to Sept. 1, 2014, will be recognized. * Health insurance open enrollment runs now to Friday, Oct. 31. During this time, all benefits-eligible employees are allowed to select new benefits options for Plan Year 2015. There are many changes, so be sure to review the changes and see how they will affect your 2015 benefits. Human Resources is hosting multiple informational meetings on campus starting Monday, Oct. 13, and the state will also present webinars to inform you of the new changes.
