* Shuttle buses will not run during fall break Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 13-14. Parking will be open and permits are not required during those two days, with the exception of Lot 6 (yellow lot at Ahlberg Hall), any red restricted spaces or individual handicapped spaces.

* You are invited to a retirement reception for Charlotte Howard, director of Continuing Education, from 3:30-5 p.m. today (Friday, Oct. 10) in 138 Hughes Metropolitan Complex, with remarks at 4 p.m. Howard has worked at Wichita State for 28 years.

* The Lecture Series in the Mathematical Sciences will feature Wichita State professor Susan G. Sterrett presenting "Logic That Fits Your 'If's," at 3 p.m. today (Friday, Oct. 10) in 372 Jabara Hall. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?3362 for more information.

* A free Family Fun Night is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today (Friday, Oct. 10) at the Heskett Center. Play a variety of sports in the gym, swim in the pool, workout in the cardio or weight room, play racquetball or squash or climb Mount Wu. Bring your WSU ID to be admitted.

* SAC is looking for university departments to sign up and register a car for this year's Trunk or Treat from noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, in the parking lot northeast of Eck Stadium. The rain location is the Shirley Beggs Ballroom in the RSC. Admission is $3 per child. * Academic advisors: Please let students know that University Libraries is again offering LASI 170 Introduction to Library Research. The class started Oct. 9, but students may still enroll. * Volunteers are wanted to help with the 5K Pumpkin Run. Duties range from providing water at the water stop, manning the fruit stations and being in the cheer squad cheering on the participants. * The State of Kansas is offering free flu shots for employees and their spouses (employee's children are not eligible) who have a Caremark ID number. WSU will hold its final clinic from 8 a.m.-noon Thursday, Oct. 16, in 266 RSC. The state will also hold additional clinics throughout the area (see http://www.wichita.edu/j/?3346).
