* Have some free time between classes or during lunch? Stop by SAC's Gaming Corner in the RSC first floor by the fireplace and play a quick game of Jenga, Taboo or a slew of other games from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today (Monday, Oct. 6).
* Words for Wellness: Thriving Through Diversity will be featured from noon-12:30 p.m. today (Monday, Oct. 6) in 142 RSC. This discussion will provide tips and insights for all who wish to turn barriers into bridges, taking advantage of the diversity we have at WSU. The program is sponsored by the Counseling and Testing Center.
* All first-time, full-time freshmen are encouraged to take a 90-minute, open-ended assessment that helps WSU measure how well it is teaching critical thinking, analytic reasoning, problem-solving and writing skills. Participating qualified freshmen are eligible to receive a $25 QuickTrip gift card. The assessment will be administered at various dates and times now to Oct. 22, in the Social Science Research Lab, 429 Lindquist Hall. * The Alpha Phi Omega interest group invites all WSU students to its next meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, in 261 RSC. Alpha Phi Omega is a coed service fraternity founded in 1925, and focuses on gaining leadership skills through service projects on campus, in the community and on a national level.
* This year's Alternative Spring Break program March 15-21, 2015, will work with hunger and homelessness in our nation's capitol. Plan to attend an informational meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in 261 RSC. Information about the trip, travel requirements, costs and applications will be discussed.
* WSU's Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority invites you to participate in an event called SKEE W.O.W. (Work Out Wednesday). This program is a free workout class the second Wednesday of every month starting tomorrow (Wednesday, Oct. 8) from 4-5 p.m. on the RSC patio. This month, a free Zumba class will be taught by one of the Campus Recreation instructors. Be part of making WSU a healthier campus.
* Sign up for intramural punt, pass, kick and intramural racquetball doubles before it's too late. The last day to sign up at http://www.imleagues.com is Wednesday, Oct. 8.
* Global Awareness Student Project (GASP) will have it's second meeting of the school year at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, in 100 Lindquist Hall. For more information, contact wsu.gasp@gmail.com.
* While supplies last, Student Health Services will provide free flu shots to all currently enrolled WSU students. Flu shots will be available on a walk-in basis (no appointment needed) at Student Health in 209 Ahlberg Hall. Hours are from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays.
