Child welfare program manager to speak on campus

PPhyllis Charles, a program manager with Child Welfare Information Gateway, an information service of the Children's Bureau, will be in Wichita attending the 38th Annual Governor's Conference for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect from Wednesday to Friday, Oct. 15-17, and has scheduled time to come by our campus and speak to students from 9:45-10:35 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, in 128 Jabara Hall.

She will provide information on the upcoming workforce for child welfare. For example, our learning center has realistic job previews from a variety of states, including Kansas. She will also go over a number of databases that are searchable by state that allow users to find laws, policies or foster care and adoption officials and agencies in each state.
