Record recruitment numbers for WSU's Panhellenic Council

Panhellenic Sororities at Wichita State saw a 65 percent increase in new members during formal recruitment this fall semester.

The Panhellenic Council, comprised of five sororities on campus, had a total of 231 potential new members register. The increase is attributed in part to the rise in student enrollment and increased outreach and marketing. This year the Panhellenic Council surpassed previous records, ending with the largest Panhellenic Formal Recruitment in campus history.

This year, the Panhellenic Council, in collaboration with Student Involvement, facilitated its annual formal recruitment process. This allowed interested collegiate women the opportunity to discover their interest in National Panhellenic Council organizations present on campus. The recruitment process is based on values matching in the exploration of sorority membership while touring chapter facilities, taking part in philanthropic discussions and recognizing shared values with members. This year's events took place from Sept. 3-8

The WSU Panhellenic Council is a member of the National Panhellenic Conference, one of the oldest and largest women's membership organizations. The national organization represents more than four million women at 655 college and university campuses, and 4,500 local alumnae chapters in the United States and Canada.
