* Want to learn about our National Student Day charities and enter to win a TV? Stop by one of our informational sessions today (Thursday, Oct. 9) in RSC 233. ICT S.O.S. will host a session at 11 a.m., with Dragon Master Foundation hosting theirs at noon. Come learn about these great organizations making a difference in our community. All students in attendance will be entered to win the free TV.
* The Office of Diversity and Inclusion and Spectrum LGBTQ and Allies have partnered to bring awareness to the lifelong journey of coming out. Celebrate National Coming Out Day from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, on the RSC north patio.
* The WSU School of Music presents "Legendary," performed by the Concert Choir, A Cappella Choir and special guests from Derby High School at 7:30 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 9) in Wiedemann Hall. Free admission for WSU students with ID. This fall concert features pieces about legends, legendary texts and legendary composers.
* Global Awareness Student Project (GASP) will have its second meeting of the school year at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, in 100 Lindquist Hall. For more information, contact wsu.gasp@gmail.com.
* Want to be a part of the 5K Pumpkin Run staff? We would love to have you. Duties range from providing water at the water stop, manning the fruit stations and being in the cheer squad cheering on the participants. Perks of being a volunteer include donuts and juice the morning of the race and a volunteer gift. Contact cr.pumpkinrun@wichita.edu if you want to be a volunteer from 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25.
* Visit your University Bookstore for a one-day sale to help celebrate National Student Day on Thursday, Oct. 9. The bookstore will sell $9.99 T-shirts and $17.99 crew neck sweatshirts, as well as offer 10 percent off purchases for students wearing their National Student Day or WU's Big Event T-shirts.
* For National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, the University Bookstore has 10 percent off any regular priced pink WSU imprinted item, for the entire month. Show your support and wear pink.
* A free Family Fun Night is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at the Heskett Center. Play a variety of sports in the gym, swim in the pool, workout in the cardio or weight room, play racquetball or squash or climb Mount Wu. Bring your WSU ID to be admitted.
