Reminders

* Open enrollment closes Friday, Oct. 31. Until then all benefits-eligible employees are allowed to select new benefits options for Plan Year 2015. There are many changes, so review them and see how they will affect your 2015 benefits. Human Resources is hosting multiple informational meetings on campus starting today (Monday, Oct. 13). The state will also present webinars to inform you of the changes. You're encouraged to attend one of these sessions. Remember, all changes will be effective Jan. 1, 2015. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?3318 for more information. To complete your open enrollment election, go to https://sehp.member.hrissuite.com/

* Campus Recreation invites you to try some free Shocker Fit classes during Fall Break, today (Monday, Oct. 13) and Tuesday, Oct. 14. If you have questions, call 978-3082.

* The deadline to apply for faculty grants through VentureWell (formerly NCIIA) is Friday, Nov. 7. VentureWell faculty grants support the creation of new courses and programs in which students develop ideas and gain the skills to bring them to market. Funding of up to $50,000 is available to fund new (or help modify existing) courses and programs in tech entrepreneurship. More information is available at http://venturewell.org/facultygrants/ or contact Becky Hundley at 978-5199 or becky.hundley@wichita.edu.

* Nominations for Excellence Awards in Research, Creativity and Community Research are now being accepted by the Office of Research and Technology Transfer (RTT). * The Office of Undergraduate Admissions invites faculty and staff to participate as an observer at this year's Distinguished Scholarship Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 6. A light breakfast is included along with a short training session. If you are interested in being an observer, sign up online at http://www.wichita.edu/dsiobserver or contact Mandy Harmon at mandy.ronen@wichita.edu.
