* Shuttle buses will not run during fall break today (Monday, Oct. 13) and Tuesday, Oct. 14. Parking will be open and permits are not required during those two days, with the exception of Lot 6 (yellow lot at Ahlberg Hall), any red restricted spaces or individual handicapped spaces.

* University Libraries is again offering LASI 170 Introduction to Library Research. The class started Oct. 9, but you may still enroll. This is a one credit eight-week course offered both face-to-face and online. Go to http://libresources.wichita.edu/lasi170 for course objectives and other details about this class.

* Hey Shockers! Did you know there are over 1,200 refugees living here in Wichita? You can make a difference in their lives. Reaching Out to Refugees is a student group on campus that is helping the International Refugee Committee in Wichita. There are opportunities to get involved this semester, including a coat drive sponsored by In The Bag Cleaners from Oct. 15-31, and a benefit night on Friday, Nov. 21. * Make A Difference Day is a national day of service dedicated to giving back to our communities. Wichita State will partner with the United Way to travel to Emporia, Kan., and work with the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland for a camp clean up and building project. To register for this event go to http://www.wichita.edu/csbvolunteer. All materials, tools, bus transportation from/to the RSC, lunch and T-shirt will be provided. Upon registration additional information and travel paperwork will be sent electronically to each participant.

* The Oklahoma City Thunder has a special offer to Wichita State students who want to attend this week's NBA basketball game between the Thunder and the Toronto Raptors at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at INTRUST Bank Arena. * SAC is looking for student groups to sign up and register a car for this year's Trunk or Treat from noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, in the parking lot northeast of Eck Stadium. The rain location is the Shirley Beggs Ballroom in the RSC. Admission is $3 per child. * Do you truly understand the dangers of driving under the influence? The Alcohol Advisory Board and Student Activities Council are bringing a DUI simulator to campus from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on the RSC north patio Wednesday, Oct. 15. Stop by for information about DUI and texting while driving.

* The WSU School of Performing Arts Theatre will present William Shakespeare's classic tragedy, "Julius Caesar," at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 16-18, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, in Wilner Auditorium. http://www.wichita.edu/j/?3371

* The Student Wellness Action Team is planning the Big Pink Volleyball Tournament -- a fundraiser for breast cancer research and awareness -- from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, in the Heskett Center Gym. There will be men's, women's and coed brackets. The fee is $10 per person and includes a T-shirt. Contact Heather Stafford in Student Health Services to sign up.
