The Department of History and the Media Resources Center are excited to produce a new television series: "Issues in History Today." The department will host two 30-minute shows a semester, with the show airing several times on WSUTV. These programs will showcase the research and scholarship of department faculty, illustrating how historic events shape our lives today. The first show at 7 p.m. today (Friday, Oct. 17) on WSUTV 13 highlights an interview with visiting guest speaker Wendy Venet by WSU's Robert Owens about the 150th anniversary of the Siege of Atlanta and Venet's new book about Civil War Atlanta. Tony Vizzini, vice president for Academic Affairs, and Ron Matson, dean of Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, have both provided support for the first episodes. If you have questions about the project, contact Helen Hundley at helen.hundley@wichita.edu.
