Wichita State University recently was placed on a list of best colleges for older students. According to BestColleges.com, the trend of adults returning to school is on the rise. Between 2000 and 2011, the number of nontraditional students enrolled in undergraduate programs increased 41 percent; they comprised 38 percent of all undergrads in 2011. Many of the colleges and universities on the list have degree programs, student associations or academic advisors specifically geared towards nontraditional students.
