Wichita Home School and Ambassadors for Christ Academy claim Kansas BEST titles

Wichita Home School won the BEST Award and Ambassadors for Christ Academy won the Game Award at the 16th annual Kansas BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology) event at Hartman Arena today (Saturday, Oct. 25). BEST is designed to inspire and motivate students toward careers in engineering, science and technology.

Kansas BEST is sponsored by Wichita State University's College of Engineering.

By winning the competition, Wichita Home School and Ambassadors for Christ qualify for the regional competition at the Frontier Trails Regional Competition hosted by the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith at the Fort Smith Convention Center Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5-6.

Also qualifying for the regional competition are Valley Center High School, Circle High School, Rose Hill High School and Campus High School.

Wichita Home School finished second in the game competition, Valley Center H.S. placed third and Circle H.S. finished fourth.

Circle H.S. finished second in the BEST Award, Rose Hill H.S. took third and Campus H.S. placed fourth.

The BEST Award is based on a project notebook, oral presentation, table display, interviews, and overall spirit and sportsmanship. The Game Award is based on the robot scoring points in the game competition.
