* The Office of Transitions and Orientation is looking to hire new Transition Mentors to welcome all new undergraduate students to Wichita State. We are looking for students who have a passion for WSU and would like to share their Shocker experience with new Shockers. For more information, visit http://www.wichita.edu/orientation. Applications are available online until Wednesday, Oct. 29, with interviews in early November and training beginning in January.

* Join the College of Health Professions Dean's Student Ambassador Council at their annual Spooktacular Scholarship Fundraiser from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. with lunch available from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, on the second floor lobby of Ahlberg Hall. Enjoy "Sloppy Brains" (sloppy joe), a bake sale, photo booth, guessing-jar games and enter the annual Halloween costume contest. Items are priced by tickets; ticket cost is $1 per ticket.

* Celebrate the grand opening of the Cadman Art Gallery, in conjunction with the 22nd Annual Elements Multi-Media Competition from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Cadman Art Gallery on the first floor of the RSC. Light refreshments begin at 5 p.m., and the student awards and recognition ceremony will begin at 6 p.m.

* The Wichita State Athletics Ticket Office has released the student ticket pickup dates for all 2014-15 men's basketball home games. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?3395 for more information.

* Sign up to attend an iEngage lunch to share your ideas on ways in which the areas within Student Engagement can evolve. Lunches are from noon-1 p.m. in the RSC. * Five WSU students enrolled in a management class in the Barton School of Business are organizing a 5K walk at Wichita State to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the RSC. * In The Bag Cleaners is teaming up with the WSU student group Reaching Out to Refugees, to help the international rescue committee provide warm clothing to refugees in Wichita. So bring your coats, preferably small and medium adult sizes from now until Oct. 31, and drop them off in an orange bucket with the Reaching Out to Refugees logo in the RSC and at every In The Bag Cleaners location.
