Starting this spring semester, the Certificate in Spanish for the Professions will offer courses in Spanish translation, interpreting and Business Spanish. These courses prepare students to become Spanish language professionals and translators. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the need for these kind of professionals is expected to increase up to 46 percent in the next decade. Wichita State University is the first university in Kansas to offer a certificate of this kind.
