Secretary Moser to speak at Wichita nursing conference, give update on Ebola
"We were very pleased that Secretary Moser agreed to come and provide current information on this topic," says Betty Smith-Campbell, chair of the Wichita State University School of Nursing.
The speech is part of the APRN Continuing Education conference, hosted by the WSU School of Nursing. The conference, which is attracting nurses from across the state, will feature nationally and internationally known speakers on topics relevant to APRNs.
Phyllis Arn Zimmer, a recognized advance practice nurse leader, will be the keynote speaker. David Knowlton, president and CEO of the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute, will also speak at the event.
The conference kicks off Thursday night with WSU celebrating the 20-year anniversary of its nurse practitioner program. Awards will be given to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of individuals who have supported the education and practice of APRNs in the state.
"This conference is filling a need to strengthen and build on current APRN education and experiences in order to better care for individuals across the state of Kansas," says Smith-Campbell.
