Stories told at the College of Education scholarship reception
That theme continued as the group of nearly 50 attendees heard from donor and faculty member Cathy Durano, who talked about the motivation behind the donations she and her husband, Tony, have made to WSU. They enjoyed their undergraduate experience at Wichita State so much, she said, that they want to allow others the same opportunity through their scholarship support.
WSU senior Kimberley Davis spoke about her educational journey toward becoming an elementary teacher. Davis is the recipient of the Bill and Dorothy Cohen Endowed Scholarship.
College of Education Dean Shirley Lefever-Davis provided guests with a college update and expressed her appreciation to everyone for attending. The event was hosted by the WSU Foundation and emceed by Joseph Hunter, vice president for development.
Attendees left with a little deeper insight about the lives of those who proudly call themselves Shockers.
