* The Cultural Ambassador Program's Fall 2014 Around the World Wednesday event will feature Don Wijesekara. He will present "Sri Lanka: Pearl of the Indian Ocean," at 12:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 19) in 142 RSC.
* The Fall 2014 Physics Seminar Series will feature Charles H. Mielke from the Los Alamos National Lab. He will present "Quantum Matter in ultra-high magnetic fields," at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 19) in 128 Jabara Hall.
* The Fall 2014 WSU Chemistry Colloquium series continues at 3:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 19) in 224 McKinley Hall, with a talk by Hans Peter Bachinger from the Oregon Health & Science University and Shriners Research Center. Bachinger will present "A molecular ensemble in the rER for procollagen maturation."
* The NIH COBRE Center for Molecular Analysis of Disease Pathways (CMADP) at the University of Kansas has announced a call for applications. Applicants must describe a research project that fits well with the scientific theme of the center and that will make good use of one or more of the CMADP Core Labs. This competition is open to all full-time, tenure-track or tenured faculty at KU-L, KSU, WSU or KUMC, whose research embraces the molecular analysis of disease pathways in the broadest sense. * The AAO-1 paper form has been consolidated into one document set for USS and unclassified/faculty job searches.
