Faculty of Excellence Luncheon includes high praise, biomedical engineering and jazz

Distinguished faculty and their donors were hosted by the WSU Foundation and the Office of Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Excellence Luncheon Friday, Nov. 14, at the Marcus Welcome Center. About 70 guests were welcomed by Elizabeth King, president and CEO of the WSU Foundation.

WSU President John Bardo provided a university update. Other speakers included Linnea GlenMaye, associate vice president for academic affairs and associate professor, and WSU Foundation Board of Directors Chair Marilyn Pauly.

Michael Jorgensen, associate professor in the Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department and manager of the Biomedical Engineering Program, was the featured speaker and talked about the strides students and faculty are making in biomedical engineering.

Entertainment was provided by three members of the WSU Faculty Jazz Quintet: Geoff Deibel, Mark Foley and John Goering. They performed "Body and Soul" and "Take the 'A' Train."
