Two Wichita State assistant professors in the Elliott School of Communication are conducting a study and looking for grandparents who are the primary caretakers of at least one grandchild. The grandparents will take part in one-hour interviews about communication dynamics in grandfamilies.

Primary researcher Jessica Bertapelle is the product of a grandfamily. She was raised by her grandmother from 15 years old. Her story was featured in the October edition of "Active Aging," and on "The Brett and Sierra Show," last spring.

This month she presented some preliminary findings at the Gerontological Society of America's Annual Scientific Meeting in Washington, D.C.
