Reminders
* Join all four WSU choirs as they ring in the holidays with "Wake, Awake: the 52nd annual Candlelight Concert" at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, and 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, in Wiedemann Hall. The concert is a celebration of the holiday season and the breadth of talent in the WSU School of Music. Admission is free for WSU students with ID.
* The men's basketball team will host Tulsa University at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, in Charles Koch Arena. To be eligible for free tickets to upcoming games, go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?3395 for more information.
* Head over to the Heskett Center today (Monday, Nov. 24) and Tuesday, Nov. 25, for our regular line-up of Shocker Fit classes, including Cycle Fit, Total Body Tone and Yoga Flow.
There will be no classes Wednesday, Nov. 26. The Heskett Center will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27-28, for Thanksgiving break.
* All Shocker Fit classes are free during the week of finals. Check out the Monday-Thursday schedule at Campus Recreation and bring a friend.
* The WSU Newman Center, located on campus off of 17th street, is hosting its Thanksgiving potluck, and you're invited. Bring your favorite Thanksgiving dish to the Newman Center at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, and share it with friends in an epic potluck. * WSU has a new scholarship opportunity for students. University Dining Services and the Sodexo Foundation are accepting applications for the Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarship program, now through Dec. 5. This program recognizes students who are finding creative solutions to eliminate hunger in America. To support their innovative efforts, winners get a $5,000 scholarship for school and a $5,000 matching grant to give to the charity of their choice. For more information, go to http://bit.ly/1xybgER
* The WSU Anthropology Club is having a coat drive for the YWCA and other local shelters. The drive runs now to Friday, Dec. 5. Collection boxes are available in the north and south lobbies of the RSC, and in the main lobby of Neff Hall.
* The winning shirt design for the 10th Annual Shocker T-Shirt Design Competition is in. The shirt pictured is now available in the University Bookstore for $10.99. Get yours while supplies last.
* Undergraduate students are encouraged to apply to present their research to legislators in the Capitol Rotunda in Topeka, on Wednesday, Feb. 11. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, Jan. 20, but earlier submissions will be given priority consideration. Student expenses will be paid by WSU, including the cost of printing the poster, transportation to and from the event and lunch at the event.
