WSU comprehensive campaign update

In June, the WSU Foundation shared with campus through WSU Today the process it was taking to begin the next comprehensive campaign since the mid-1980s. With the completion of nearly 55 interviews and seven group briefings, all with donors and prospects, a feasibility study from consultants Grenzebach Glier and Associates has been completed and presented to President John Bardo and the WSU Foundation board.

A number of university priorities have emerged and the timeliest ones have made the list for campaign funding. At this time they include a building to house the W. Frank Barton School of Business and Innovation Center, the Arts Center Ideas Lab, an expansion for Charles Koch Arena and Cessna Stadium, enhancements to the Eck Stadium Sports Facility, undergraduate, graduate and Honors College student support, faculty support and specific program initiatives.

According to Elizabeth King, WSU Foundation president and CEO, the working goal for this multiyear campaign is $200 million. Before setting the goal in stone, the WSU Foundation needs to raise 50 percent and know there is a realistic pipeline of donors and prospective donors to secure the remainder.

WSU Foundation staff members appreciate the opportunity to work with deans, athletics and other campus leaders as they seek to raise funds for the further advancement of WSU.

Fundraising began during fiscal year 2014 and tentatively the plan is for the campaign to take an additional six years.
