* Understanding finance at WSU can be a challenge for budget officers and support staff. On Tuesday, Jan. 13, Lois Tatro will present WSU Finance 101, which includes information on GU and RU funding, how to stay on top of departmental finances, processing revenue, expenses, BPC cards, travel and more. If you have questions regarding the finance process you would like Lois to cover, send them to training@wichita.edu by Friday, Jan. 9. * The state of Kansas offers all employees the opportunity to consent, view and print their W-2 form electronically through State of Kansas Employee Self Service. Employees are encouraged to consent and access electronic W-2 information online through state of Kansas Employee Self Service. Last year almost 20,000 state of Kansas employees received their W-2 information electronically through Employee Self Service -- saving time, money and the environment. * Springfest, an involvement fair for departments and organizations to get their names out, will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, on the second floor of the Heskett Center. Register your university department at http://www.wichita.edu/springfest for an information table at this fun-filled event where students will get to know more about your department. There are limited tables available. The last day to register is 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, or until all spots are reserved.

* Because of the ongoing Ebola virus outbreak occurring in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Mali in West Africa, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued travel notices for these countries. Travelers are advised to review travel notices before planning travel to these countries. Please be aware that new screening procedures at U.S. airports may affect your return to the United States. Student Health Services is asking individuals traveling to Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone or Mali during the holiday break to contact Student Health at 978-3620.
