Blackboard updates for Spring 2015
Courses are available
Spring courses and enrollments are now available on the Blackboard server, so you should be able to see your courses and begin preparing at your convenience.
Blackboard update
The Blackboard server was updated during the break. The upgrade introduced new functionality and bug fixes to improve performance.
- Important Change: SafeAssign (an anti-plagiarism tool) is no longer a stand-alone tool; it is integrated into all assignments (as an option).
- Old assignments do not need to be updated or recreated; they will still work as they always did.
- To find out more about enabling SafeAssign for a new assignment, go to http://bit.ly/wsuSA2
- To find out how to view SafeAssign Reports, go to http://bit.ly/wsuSA1
- There will be more information about new features added in this update soon.
- As always, if you need support for your Blackboard courses or organizations, you can find that through the OneStop at http://wichita.edu/onestop
Blackboard training
- Blackboard training is now available online and on-demand at http://wichita.edu/bbtraining
Course merge
- If you would like to merge a course to reduce repetitive course management tasks or to merge a lab course within its parent, please submit a support ticket through the Blackboard Support area of the OneStop at http://wichita.edu/onestop
ProctorU
WSU's new remote proctoring solution is ProctorU (this replaces Lockdown Browser). Find out more about ProctorU and other exam proctoring options at http://www.proctoru.com/portal/wichita/
Why I cannot see or access my course?
The most common reason you cannot see or access your course in Blackboard is that you have not been officially assigned to the course by your department. Check with your department to see if they have assigned you to your course. If you are listed as the instructor of record in Banner and your course is not available to you in Bb, please submit a support ticket through the Blackboard support area of the OneStop at http://wichita.edu/onestop
