Speech Language Hearing Clinic receives money for scholarships

The Scottish Rite RiteCare clinics provide diagnostic evaluation and treatment of speech language and hearing disorders.

Their mission is "Helping Children Communicate." There are 178 RiteCare clinics throughout the United States and five in Kansas, including the Wichita State University Evelyn Hendren Cassat Speech Language Hearing Clinic at Hughes Metropolitan Complex.

Since 2001, the Wichita State clinic has partnered with Kansas Scottish Rite as a RiteCare Clinic to provide diagnostic evaluation and treatment for children with speech language and hearing disorders.

Funding is provided by the Wichita Valley Scottish Rite for many of the children who receive services at the clinic. In October 2014, the Wichita Valley Scottish Rite organization invited the community to the Champagne and Chocolate auction to raise funds for the clinic. This event yielded a profit of $19,000, which will be used for scholarships which will partially fund needed services for many of the children at the WSU clinic.
