* The University Police Department will host a van training class at 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22. This is a requirement if persons wish to drive a 12-passenger van. Interested persons need to contact edwin.catlin@wichita.edu to be placed on the list.
* Springfest, an involvement fair for departments and organizations to get their names out, will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, on the second floor of the Heskett Center. Register your university department at http://www.wichita.edu/springfest for an information table at this fun-filled event where students will get to know more about your department. There are limited tables available. The last day to register is 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, or until all spots are reserved.
* The physical OneStop office in 122 Jabara Hall will be closed from 11:15 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, for a staff development event. During this time, students can still access OneStop services by calling 855-978-1787 or online at http://www.wichita.edu/onestop
* Kimberly Nix from TextHelp will be on campus Thursday, Jan. 8, to provide training for the new free productivity software, Read Write & Gold, which will be made available to all faculty, staff and students beginning the spring 2015 semester. If you work with students, especially in the areas of tutoring or study skills training, this will be a very useful software program for you to be able to share with students. * Have recent building renovations and policies left you curious about event planning on campus? Learn the A-to-Z of event planning with presentations from offices such as Event Services, Physical Plant, Media Resource Center, Sodexo, Metropolitan Complex Conference Office, University Police Department and many more. Join us from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, in the Beggs Ballroom as we navigate through the event planning process.
