* The WSU Women's Glee Club is looking for Shocker ladies who would enjoy singing in a choir for spring semester 2015. No audition is required. Rehearsals are from 2:30-3:20 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, in C107 Duerksen Fine Arts Center, and the choir is available as a one or zero credit class. * Springfest is just around the corner. It is an involvement fair for departments and organizations to get their names out, and it will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, on the second floor of the Heskett Center. There are limited tables available. The last day to register is 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, or until all spots are reserved.

* Are you a junior? Do you value scholarship, leadership and service? Mortar Board Senior Honor Society is accepting applications for new members. * Starting this semester, the Certificate in Spanish for the Professions will offer courses in Spanish translation, interpreting and Business Spanish. These courses prepare students to become Spanish language professionals and translators. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the need for these kind of professionals is expected to increase up to 46 percent in the next decade. * Undergraduate students are encouraged to apply to present their research to legislators in the Capitol Rotunda in Topeka, on Wednesday, Feb. 11. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, Jan 20. Up to five WSU undergraduates will have the opportunity to attend this prestigious research showcase. Student expenses will be paid by WSU, including the cost of printing the poster, transportation to and from the event and lunch at the event. * Since 2010, the US-UK Fulbright Commission has partnered with top UK universities and other organizations to give U.S. undergraduates the opportunity to study and experience culture in various regions of the UK.
