CCSR and Community Psychology Doctoral Program partner on international journal

Scott Wituk, executive director of the Center for Community Support and Research (CCSR) and Greg Meissen, professor of psychology and coordinator of the Community Psychology Doctoral Program, are taking lead editorial roles for the Global Journal of Community Psychology Practice (GJCPP). Started in 2010, GJCPP is an e-journal for practitioners of community psychology and community improvement around the globe.

With nearly 1,000 subscribers, the journal is devoted to providing high quality and practical information on community practice. It publishes authoritative peer reviewed articles and tools of strategic importance to a broad base of professionals engaged in the practice of developing, implementing and evaluating community interventions.

Wituk will serve as the senior editor, overseeing all aspects of the journal. "Being selected as the senior editor will continue to further WSU's reputation as one of the leading universities in the area of Community Psychology," said Wituk. "It is also creates new opportunities with other universities and practitioners. Already since the start of January, we've received new subscribers and article submissions from across the globe."

Meissen also explains how the partnership will create opportunities for Wichita State students. "Several graduate students will work with me and Scott's team to support the management of the journal. Students who are interested in future academic positions will have firsthand experience in running and managing an international journal."
