* Jim Pulliam, WSU's chief information officer, will hold an open planning meeting for the rollout of ArcGIS on the WSU campus, from 2-3:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, in 266 RSC. * WSU professor Alexander Bukhgeym will present "Zeta functions and inverse problems," as part of the Lecture Series in the Mathematical Sciences at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, in 372 Jabara Hall. Bukhgeym will consider the relationship between some multidimensional inverse problems and zeta functions. The presentation will be nontechnical. Refreshments will be available prior to the lecture at 2:30 p.m. in 353 Jabara Hall.
* President Bardo encourages your participation in a process to review and update position descriptions for all Unclassified Professional Staff and University Support Staff by Friday, Feb. 13. You may attend a scheduled work session to complete your Job Analysis Questionnaire (JAQ). Please bring a copy of your JAQ with you and it may be beneficial to bring a copy of your current position description. * Teresa Radebaugh, founding director of the Regional Institute on Aging, recently announced her retirement effective June 1, 2015. Because of the retirement announcement, the Division of Academic Affairs is opening an internal search to replace Radebaugh as the Carl and Rozina Cassat Professor in Aging and director of the Regional Institute on Aging. * The Tilford Commission on Diversity welcomes proposals from instructors interested in developing a new diversity-related course or in modifying an existing course to enhance its diversity content.
