* At 6:30 p.m. today (Tuesday, Feb. 24) the Wichita State trumpet studio will give a recital. The free concert takes place in Wiedemann Hall and will feature 10 trumpet players.
* Nominations are being accepted for the two senator at large positions for the 2015-17 Faculty Senate at http://bit.ly/1Li42KV
* WSU is partnering with Wichita Transit and vRide to offer a new benefit to interested university employees: vanpooling. Vanpooling is a service that replaces personal vehicles with a van that the riders pitch in to operate, thus driving down the cost for everyone. Wichita Transit and vRide will be on-site 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, in 256 RSC to provide more details and assistance.
* Douglas Tucker with Fermi National Accelerator Lab in Chicago will present "Dark Energy Search," at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in 128 Jabara Hall. The talk is part of the Spring 2015 Physics Seminar Series.
* The spring Chemistry Colloquium continues at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in 224 McKinley Hall. Joseph Loo from UCLA will be the guest speaker.
* Nominations are being accepted for the President's Award for Distinguished Service for Unclassified Professionals. Nominees should have provided exemplary, dedicated and caring
service to WSU beyond the normal expectations and responsibilities of their position, and must have a .5 or greater appointment as an Unclassified Professional.
