The School of Social Work will host the 12th annual POWER conference at Century II Convention Center on Friday, March 6. Keynoting this year will be Michael Bermes, director of Mental Health, U.S. Marine Corps, presenting on the theme of Social Work Identity. Bermes will also provide a university and community seminar from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, March 5, in 209 Hubbard Hall, on the topic of working with veterans in the classroom. Admission to the seminar is free. POWER Conference early bird registration rate of $100 is available through Friday, Feb. 27; student registration is $60.
