* A Chemistry Colloquium will feature a presentation by John Stanford of KU Medical Center at 3:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 4) in 224 McKinley Hall. His topic is "Translatable Measures of Motor Function and Strength Training in Preclinical Models of Parkinson's Disease and ALS."
* The deadline to nominate an outstanding WSU female leader for the Annual Phenomenal Women Award ceremony has been extended to 5 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 4). To make a nomination, go to http://www.wichita.edu/phenomenal for the application. The 2015 award recipients will be honored at a March 26 reception in Beggs Ballroom, RSC.
* Globally influential speaker and longtime civil rights leader Gerald Durley of Atlanta will be at Wichita State for three events, Thursday, March 5. Durley's message will be "Climate Change is a Civil Rights Issue." Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?3645 for more information.
* Every year, the KU School of Medicine-Wichita holds a Research Forum for students, residents and faculty, as well as anyone interested in community health and medical research, to present and discuss research projects and facilitate research collaboration. This year's conference is Wednesday, April 29. WSU faculty are welcome to submit research for consideration. The deadline for abstract submission is Tuesday, April 7. * Fourteen judges are needed for Hippodrome. Seven judges are needed from 6-10:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, and Thursday, April 9. Another seven judges are needed to sit from 2-9 p.m. Saturday, April 11, to see all the skits and final variety acts. * Student Perception of Teaching Effectiveness (SPTE) Request forms were due to the Social Science Research Lab yesterday (Monday, March 2).
