* Wichita State's Susan Sterrett will present "Using models in science: Is biology special?," at 4 p.m. today (Monday, March 9) in 218 Hubbard Hall. The presentation is part of the Biological Sciences Seminar spring series.

* Faculty and staff are invited to continued discussions toward formalizing service-learning on campus. The symposium will take place from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, in 233 RSC. A discussion will center on further assessment of service-learning, the alternative spring break program in Washington, D.C., and an updated service-learning manual complete with resources and the benefits of service-learning. * Nominations are being received through Wednesday, April 1, for the 2015 Higuchi-KU Endowment Research Achievement Awards. The awards are the highest honor given for Kansas Board of Regents university faculty accomplishments in research, scholarship and creative activity. * Student Involvement is looking for judges to help with the 3rd Annual Shocker Leadership Awards. These awards are a way to recognize the work of student-led organizations, students, faculty and staff at WSU. Judging will take place in the middle of April and will consist of looking over award applications and meeting to discuss each category.
