College of Health Professions Scholarship Reception

College of Health Professions scholarship recipients, their donors and Wichita State and WSU Foundation staff gathered for an afternoon of food and conversation, Tuesday, March 2, at the Marcus Welcome Center. Nearly 50 attendees were welcomed to the reception by Joseph Hunter, WSU Foundation vice president for development. Sandra Bib, dean of the College of Health Professions, provided a college update.

Remarks from Mike Herbert, president and CEO of Delta Dental of Kansas, focused on the donor perspective, as DDKS has provided continuous support to a variety of WSU developments such as the AEGD building fund, AEGD Gift of Smiles Campaign and the Linda Brantner Committed to Community Scholarship.

Guests also heard comments from WSU student Dustin Siler, the Geney and Cramer Reed Endowed Scholarship/Fellowship recipient. He has participated in numerous service projects and was involved with procuring a grant to fund a white coat ceremony for the class of 2015. Siler will graduate in July with a Master of Physician Assistant.
