Volunteers needed for Kansas Science Olympiad

Volunteers are needed for the 28th Annual Kansas Science Olympiad Saturday, April 4, at Wichita State. The Kansas Science Olympiad is a statewide competition that helps make science fun. More than 1,000 middle and high school students will demonstrate their knowledge, ability and skills in all areas of science.

Volunteers are needed for all or part of the day from 7:15 a.m.-5 p.m. to help check in students, help with events, act as runners, etc.

Events students participate in include:

- Designing and building the lightest bridge capable of supporting a given mass.
- Designing, constructing and flying a rubber-band powered airplane that remains aloft for as long as possible.
- Solving a CSI using chemistry lab techniques.
