Airline Quality Rating report to reveal top carriers of 2014
Media who would like to interview Wichita State's Dean Headley in advance of Monday's news conference in Washington, D.C., can do so provided the interview is embargoed until after 11 p.m. CDT Sunday, April 12. Headley can provide information on how the airline industry performed in 2014, and that early information must also be embargoed from print, electronic or social media until after 11 p.m. CDT Sunday, April 12. However, the actual airline rankings won't be available until after 8:30 a.m. CDT Monday, April 13.
If you agree to embargo the early information on the Airline Quality Rating and would like to interview Dean Headley this week before he leaves for Washington, D.C., contact Joe Kleinsasser at 316-978-3013 or cell 316-204-8266 before Friday, April 10.
As the longest-running and most established measure of airline performance and quality of the 12 largest airlines in the United States, the study helps sort out the difference in airline performance for the business community, the media and the general public.
The rating is conducted annually by researchers Dean Headley at the W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University and Brent Bowen, dean of the College of Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Prescott, Ariz., campus.
AQR researchers use performance-based data to show whether actual performance of airlines correspond with the public perception of airline quality.
