Media day planned for nationally ranked Shocker bowling teams
Members of both the men's and women's teams and coaches will be available for interviews and pictures. Media kits will also be available, which feature this season's news releases, tournament record, player and coach bios and the Intercollegiate Team Championships schedule and information.
WSU's nationally ranked teams will compete at Northrock Lanes in the Intercollegiate Team Championships from Tuesday, April 14-Saturday, April 18. Competition begins on the April 14 with singles competition, continuing with team play from the April 16-18.
Since the first national tournament in 1975, the Shockers have won 19 national championships; 10 men's titles and nine women's titles. No other program has exceeded these record totals.
The United States Bowling Congress (USBC) will provide extensive coverage of the tournament at www.bowl.com. USBC will live stream singles competition on April 14 from 7:45 a.m. CDT-5:45 p.m. CDT. Team coverage begins on April 16 from 8:45 a.m. CDT-8 p.m. CDT. Coverage will continue April 17 from 8:15 a.m. EST-9 p.m. CDT.
The Rhatigan Student Center has been the major financial and administrative supporter of the Wichita State University bowling program since 1959.
