"Using space science and technology to help solve energy and environmental problems on Earth" is the title of a public lecture at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 23, in 100 Lindquist Hall. The guest Watkins Visiting professor is Les Johnson, technical adviser for NASA's Advanced Concepts Office at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. Johnson serves as the principal investigator of the Near Earth Asteroid Scout solar sail mission. He will also give a scientific lecture "Propellantless propulsion: Propelling spacecraft using the natural environments of space," at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, in 128 Jabara Hall.
