* The next Biological Sciences Spring Seminar will be held from 4-5 p.m. today (Monday, April 27) in 218 Hubbard Hall. Amanda E. Ramer-Tait from the Department of Food Science & Technology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, will present "Resistant starches, the gut microbiota and metabolic syndrome."

* An active shooter campus training session is planned for 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, April. 29, in 233 RSC. The Campus Safety-Active Shooter classroom training session is part of WSU's proactive approach to ensure a safe campus environment and to prepare our faculty, staff and students in case of an incident of campus violence. * The Fiscal Year 2016 budget process begins at the departmental level with the entering of budget information into WSU's new budget system (TM1) software. Because the new budget system will be used for the FY 16 budget process, it is important that budget officers and budget review officers for state orgs (non-research orgs) attend one of the FY 16 Training Sessions or the Open Lab session for individual help. * Human Resources is sponsoring two contests for staff and faculty to win free tickets to see Laverne Cox at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at Hughes Metropolitan Complex.
